High levels of insulin resistance will block you from being able to burn a significant amount of body fat. So the first thing I would focus on is decreasing your levels of insulin resistance as much as possible. Now the easiest way to tackle this issue is by using a combination of exercise and diet. If you simply focus on one or the other you will not be able to maximize your results here. Now in terms of diet you need to focus on decreasing your overall intake of sugar. This will single-handedly decrease the amount of insulin your body produces which in turn will decrease insulin resistance. Now in terms of exercise try to do a lot of total body training that targets all your large muscle groups. Targeting more muscle fibers will effectively decrease insulin resistance significantly.
